Downtown Charleston

Historic Downtown Charleston Walking Tour
This past weekend I had the pleasure of joining my cousin and mother on a walking tour. This tour was based off of the book “The Invention of Wings” by Sue Monk Kidd. After joining my family on this tour I now have a great desire to read this book.

Charleston is well known for its historic roots during slavery and this book takes you back into the early ninetieth century. In this book two sisters Sarah and Angelina Grimke share their story.
Our tour guide was amazing she knew so much about the book and where things actually happened here in Charleston. If you plan on visiting Charleston and have a love for history than this is a tour for you. Carol takes her time to explain each site I enjoyed every bit of the tour all while enjoying the beautiful sites around Charleston. Be sure to check her out at The Original Grimke Sisters Tour
Here are some images I snapped along the way.
