So my “Trial Year” is coming to an end and my birthday is speedily approaching. Wow, ya girl is getting up there. But hey that’s life and I am making the best of it!
After taking some time to explore various outlets I’ve come back to my core four. Let’s talk about my core four as I like to call it.
- Animals
- Children
- Fashion
- Dancing
These four things have been in my heart since a child. My family nickname was “Elmyra”
Who was known for her overwhelming love for animals. Not only was I called “Elmyra” but lovingly nicknamed “Belly Woman” by my late great-grandmother.
Basically, I never stopped dancing and I did this weird dance just for her. My Fathers mother is where I adopted my love for Fashion and children. Going to grandmas house was like going to the mall I’d play dress-up and shop her wardrobe.
This Top pictured above was hers and I cherish it dearly along with other pieces I have.
After dressing up we’d make crafts for her students. Just the other day I was telling a friend how we made an entire living room set out of popsicle sticks. How cool is that!
So you can clearly see how all of these things have been incorporated into my life since childhood.
My year is closing and I will be re-entering the school system with a clear head, fresh vision, and full-filled with my core four.
- 1. Working as a Computer Lab Co-Teacher by Day
- 2. Fashion Stylist By Appointments
- 3. Afrobeats Dance Instructor By Night (New Class Location To Be Released Soon)
- 4. And Of Course A Dog Mom To Chico Forever
My life has done a full circle and I am so happy that I’ve come to this choice on my own strength. Going through my separation shook my world and I needed a “Trial Year” to venture out and find “Narcisa” without any additives. The only additive I needed and had in the midst of it all was Christ.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” – Provers 3:5-6 (I live by this verse…shoutout to VBS & Camp T for embedding this scripture on my heart!!)
I love love love how you managed to combine all of your core loves into your daily life!! ❤️❤️
Thanks hun! Sometimes we don’t ever realize how life aligns itself until we sit down and be still. Grateful for my blogging outlet 😍😘
Trust me, you are in a wonderful place and everything will come together when they need to. Although such a short read, this has been the best thing I’ve read today. All the very best with the future plans. Let Him lead.

Elmyra!!!! Loved her. She embraced her interests (literally) and never apologized for being soooo extra! Loved this post. I can almost envision your grandmother wearing that blouse. It has so much personality. Do you have a picture of her in it? Keep doing what you do! With every obstacle, your inner core continues to get refined. As my late mom used to tell me, “smile through it and the rest of you will follow”.
Finally someone else who know about my girl Elmyra 💖 I am going to have to do some digging for a picture 🤔 And those are beautiful words I am sure your mom was sweet and kind. Thanks for reading and responding 🤗
