Two settings, two women, and one night of fun! It all started when we decided to take Coca-Cola up on their offer to whip up a New Orleans Grillades With Green Strawberry Relish dish for their upcoming tour entitled “The Table is Set: A four-city tour served with a Coke.” Here’s the breakdown…
First up we went to our local Harris Teeter to check off the ingredients from our recipe list. I am happy to report that yet again Harris Teeter came through with everything we needed! If you’re not shopping at Harris Teeter I suggest you jump on the bandwagon. They always have what you need for the right price!
After a really fun night of grocery shopping, I went home and prepped the Relish! Now when I say really fun night I mean it gets no better when we’re together.
It sounds so cliche but it’s the facts. Our friends have dubbed us “The Angell & Narcisa Show” because whenever we’re together its tons of laughs, dancing, and random acts.
In between laughing and dancing I was able to chop up all our veggies. Check out my prepped relish looking good for this meal
We let that sit for a few hours while we talked, laughed, and prepped the rest of the food.
Angell Whipped up the main course while I worked on the relish and waffles.
A few hours later and we finally had our meal set, ready, and oh so delicious.
This was the perfect girls night in meal and the best part is that went so well with A classic Coca-Cola. It cooled down the spice and enhanced the earthiness of braised beef while the acidity from strawberries paired with the refreshing pop from a Coke cleanses the palate after every bite.
This recipe is apart of Soul Food Sessions and they are taking their mission to increase diversity in the culinary industry on the road thanks to a partnership with Coca-Cola Consolidated. Charleston is the last stop on the tour.
If you’re not a master chef like me and my girl haha (totally kidding it was work but we had fun), then come out to The Dewberry Charleston Hotel October 16, 2018, for a night of food, fun, and conversations. This yummy meal will be cooked just for you by guest chefs Mike and Shyretha Sheats, Jason Sherrill and Kevin Mitchell. Doors open at 6 p.m., and guest should plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m. to find a seat before the 7-course dinner is served at 7 p.m.
