“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great at whatever they want to do.”Kobe Bryant
Time waits for no one and no one knows when their time on earth will end. What we do know is that it will come and with that knowledge we can choose to live a life that will do just what the late Kobe Bryant has said. Live a life that would inspire.
Our timelines have been flooded with the news of Kobe’s passing and we are all in disbelief and shock. It’s as if the world has stood still for a moment in time trying to come up for air amid this news. Here we are holding on to the last memories we’ve had or seen of this great legend and his beloved daughter Gianna.
My mind thinks on my last moments with the ones I love and care for. I wonder if they know I love them, if I’ve done enough, did I make them smile, did I extend grace? These questions plague my mind wanting to leave those I come in contact with better than I did before.
My prayer is that we’d love harder, be kinder, choose peace, and live each moment as if it were our last. May we not take for granted the gift of returning home from work, school, or wherever we go. May we seek God’s guidance and trust His timing for our lives.
May this prayer cover his wife and family and all of us trying to grasp this tragedy.
God of love and mercy,
embrace all those
whose hearts today
overflow with grief,
and such a sense of loss.
Grant them space
to express their tears.
Hold them close
through the coming days.
