Brand Yourself Sis!

Your personal brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room – remember that

Chris ducker

You are your brand and only you can share with the world what you have to offer. It’s 2020 and just about everyone has a brand or is on the verge of having a brand. This is all good news as we know having one stream on income just isn’t working for us this day in age.

When it comes to a brand I can’t tell you what to brand. It has to come from within or be inspired by something you’ve seen or heard. Luckily for you there are so many Facebook groups and Instagram accounts geared towards helping you narrow one down. What I can tell you is that after you’ve selected your brand focus it’s time to shoot. Yes I’m talking about a photoshoot.

A photoshoot captures your brand style and allows you to have content when needed. Content for what? Content for social media like Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and of course a blog.

Most recently I had the opportunity to have my own branding shoot with LaShay Price Photography. When picking out a photographer it’s important to find one that meets your needs. For me I like to work with photographers that specialize in lifestyle photography, branding, and fashion. These are the areas I cover here on my blog and my social media platforms. LaShay Price covers just about all of those areas and happened to be in my area when needed.

Our session was phenomenal from start to finish. LaShay was on time and ready to roll with tons of ideas for the location. Location is key to making your brand come to life. LaShay picked the spot and we rocked out. I love a session where I genuinely connect with the photographer beyond clicks. Needless to say we’ll be connecting again in the near future. Below are a few of our final images and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

For this shoot I decided to rock my favorite color yellow which is becoming my go to color for brand. Yellow is a color that represents freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, and optimism. A few things that not only represents me but my brand as well. So color is key.

All in all a branding session is key to take your brand up a notch. If you’re in the Charleston area I personally invite you to Heels & Headshots Networking Mixer + Proffesional Photos. The Heels & Headshots mixer will allow women in business to connect, share and explore various industries during our entrepreneurial panel discussion with a few of Charleston’s most influential business gurus! Professional headshots will be provided by one of Charleston’s amazing female photographers! So come out, enjoy, and get those photos so you can brand yourself sis!

I’m currently in the process of trying to figure out how to brand myself and I have no idea where to start! I guess there really is no right way but the quote you put (about what it means to brand) was really helpful and given me an insight as to where to start.
    Thanks for sharing!

I’m still too teeny (and hopeless) to brand but this was a great post! Your shots look incredible and yellow really suits you!
